Maine Central Railroad, Winslow Depot, 1936
Contributed by Winslow Historical Preservation CommitteeDescription
The image shows the Maine Central Railroad depot, in Winslow, looking north along the present-day Augusta Road, Route 201, across the Sebasticook River.
This railroad station was several hundred yards north of the southern intersection of Lithgow Street and the Augusta Road. The white building in the photo was at the northern intersection of Lithgow Street with the Augusta Road.
The railroad trestle is to the left of the white building, and a dark image of Fort Halifax blockhouse can be seen across the Sebasticook.
